Breaking news from the Athens Banner-Herald!

LOCAL MAN DISCOVERS FOUR FIVE YEAR OLD TECHNOLOGY!

Also, new turntables have been manufactured basically constantly since they were invented.  It's not that difficult to listen to records.

Just sayin'...

EDIT:

According to Wired, the USB turntable came on the market in 2005, so I have corrected my fake headline.  Also, dude charges ten dollars per album (with a one dollar per album price break at 11).  Come on.  Basically everyone has a computer now.  USB turntables are about $80, so you come out ahead doing it yourself for 8 records or more and most of the artists mentioned in the article are of the popularity level that you can legally download their albums from amazon or iTunes or Wal*Mart.com or wherever for less money.

Look, I'm not trying to jump on a dude for making some cash, and I really don't want to accuse the dude of taking advantage of his customer base's ignorance of current technology, but this just doesn't add up.

Also, I'll put your records on CD for you for five dollars each if you want...

You probably want to hear a country music radio program from 1974 that tries to get you to join the army. <a href="http://2000things.blogspot.com/2010/02/todays-army-presents-gene-price-country.html>Check it out!</a>

I just noticed this, but in the final scene of White Heat, you can totally see the Warner Brothers property mark on the top of the megaphone that Philip Evans (John Archer) is using.

I wonder if the "continuity nerds" of 1949 went crazy about this on whatever the equivalent of the internet was back then?
